Planning and Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes Meeting Held August 30, 2017

A regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Tioga, Texas was held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Tioga City Hall, 600 Main Street, Tioga, Texas.

Call to Order: The P&Z regular meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m.

Prayer: Given

Declaring a Quorum: A quorum was declared. The committee members present were Arlene Joice, Janet Sloane, Patrick Coyle, Kristi Staples, and Dale Cavin.

Approval of Minutes: Minutes from April 26, 2017 approved. Motion made by Dale Cavin, seconded by Janet Sloane. Minutes from July 5, 2017 tabled. Minutes from July 26, 2017 approved. Motion made by Janet Sloane, seconded by Dale Cavin. All motions carried.

Subdivision Ordinances

Revised subdivision ordinances discussed. Possible presence of drainage issues in town with new construction. Floodplain has to be considered with new development. Keep updated and current on Subdivision checklist and ordinances in preparation for future growth.

Land Use Survey

Things to consider for survey; % of lots in town a certain size and road widths. Questions need to be added and some rewritten to avoid bias in questions. Last survey was very successful so committee feels another survey on specific land use ideas and thoughts could be very useful. Survey needs to be 10 - 12 well written questions.

Adjourn: Meeting adjourned 7:48 p.m. Motion made by Kristi Staples, seconded by Patrick Coyle. Motion carried all ayes.

Notice is given that a regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission will be held August 30, 2017 at Tioga City Hall, 600 Main Street, Tioga, Texas, at 7:00 p.m.

These are open meetings, open to the public, subject to the OPEN MEETING LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS and, as required by law, are hereby posted at the Tioga City Hall on August 25, 2017, giving notice of date, time, place, and agenda thereof.

Agenda:
1. Call Planning and Zoning Meeting to Order.
2. Declaring of a quorum.
3. Discuss and consider approving minutes of the last meetings (April 26, July5 and July 26)
4. Continue review of subdivision ordinances.
5. Revisit Land use survey and continued review of future projects of the commission.
6. Open discussion and setting date for the next meeting.
